The Hcg Diet Plan is a doctor-supervised, rapid medical weight loss program that combines hormone therapy with whole food eating. While working with severely malnourished women in India, Dr. Simeons discovered a link between the Hcg hormone, and its ability to utilize stored fat to nourish and deliver healthy children. After years of research, he was able to develop a protocol that utilized this effect of Hcg, to treat obesity, and published the groundbreaking manuscript, Pounds and Inches.

Here are a few basics for those who are ready to jump right in and start with the plan immediately. With these simple articles, you can easily get started today. Take note however, that anyone new to the plan, should read through this guide thoroughly, and NEVER proceed with the protocol without consulting a physician (FDA approved telemedicine Hcg programs are listed below.)

The Hcg Diet is a medical weight loss plan, and should ONLY be prescribed and overseen by a licensed medical doctor. While it can be challenging to find a local physician that specializes in Hcg hormone therapy, there are a few options available online, through FDA-approved telemedicine companies in the USA. These sources provide complete prescription Hcg kits for injections, drops and tablets/pills/pellets, and provide expert guidance throughout the duration of treatment.

Preparing for the plan, is absolutely essential and should not be skipped. Much like building a house, you want a solid foundation and to be prepared for the steps and challenges that come along with the protocol. The Hcg protocol consists of 3 phases, with a newer 4th phase that has been added to the original protocol, being coined as P4, longterm maintenance. Each phase is extremely important and should not be skipped. The Loading Phase (P1) is 2 (in some cases, 3 days,) while Phase 2, the weight loss phase, can vary in length depending on your protocols specifics. For example, one Hcg sources protocol can differ from another such as 26 days or 29 days. Phase 3, the Transition Phase, lasts 3 weeks and is an expansion of increased calories and foods that do not include any sugars or starches. The 4th phase refers to life after the diets first 3 phases and includes a lifestyle of healthy choices learned while on the protocol. This includes exercise, portion control, clean eating and healthy living in general.

The HCG Diet Protocol consists of separate phases. Together, they are referred to as a round. Dieters typically lose 18 to 25 lbs per round (approximately 1 month.) If more weight is needed to be lost, there is a 3 week break after the final phase, and thenanother round is started. Rinse and repeat until goal weight is reached.

HCG Diet protocols include the following4 phases. Note on protocol variations: Some protocols actually include 3 and 4 as the same Maintenance phase and have only 3 phases total. Other protocols, including Dr. Simeons Original protocol, do not include phase 1, loading phase. This can be a personal preference, however we will say that the following phase example, has shown great results from our readers, and has certainly appeared to be the most successful.

Phase 1 is the loading phase. Also known as the preparation phase. This phase is not on all HCG Diet protocols but it is on most and is very popular. During this two day phase, the dieter eats as much healthy fats as possible in preparation for starting the next phase. They are also welcome to eat as many cheat foods as they would like, with the intention of satisfying cravings prior to beginning the next phase where these foods will not be allowed. Read more

Phase 2 of the HCG Diet is the weight loss phase. This begins on day 3 of taking HCG where the dieter adheres toa specifiedcalorie intake and carefully selected food list. For most dieters, this is the most challenging phase of the plan because there is very little room for error. Read more:

Phase 3 of the HCG Dietis at the end of HCG is discontinued and the same foods from phase 2 are still eaten, but increased slowly. In this stage, this is areintroduction period where calories and foods are slowly adjusted to maintain weight loss. Read more:

Phase 4 of the HCG Diet is the phase of continuing weight maintenance for life-long health and fitness.This is an essential part of the HCG diet and it actually begins during Phase 2. This is where you will begin to build the skills necessary for lifetime weight maintenance and healthy living. Hcg weight loss foods and recipes are the backbone of the Hcg weight loss program. Not only do the allowed foods help you to lose weight, but they also help get our body into a healthy state.

It is important to understand that while the Hcg hormone does NOT make you lose weight, it does change how your body loses weight, and creates a reaction in your body that allows for the rapid weight loss. It is the carefully selected Hcg Diet foods (see official list here (& dont forget to bookmark!) that is responsible for your weight loss; the Hcg just allows your body to continue to burn fat when it would normally go into starvation mode under the calorie restricted diet.

In a nutshell: The Hcg Diets strict eating guidelines focus on portion control, increased vegetables and proteins, and a food list that is comprised of clean, unprocessed foods.

Take a "natural" hormone the body makes during pregnancy -- and lose a lot of weight? That's the promise that's turned the hCG Diet -- named after that hormone -- into a craze that just won't quit. If you also go on an ultra-low-calorie diet, backers claim, hCG can reset your metabolism so you lose as much as a pound a day without feeling hungry or weak.

Here's what the science says: Any super-low-cal diet will result in weight loss. Most studies have found that hCG (stands for human chorionic gonadotropin) has nothing to do with it.

The hCG diet limits you to 500 calories a day for 8 weeks while taking hCG, either by getting a shot or by taking a homeopathic product, such as oral drops, pellets, or sprays, which you can buy at the store.

None of this is approved by the FDA for weight loss. The shots themselves are legal, as long as a health care provider gives them to you. (They're approved to treat fertility issues.) But over-the-counter hCG products are not. The FDA has sent warning letters to several companies that market homeopathic hCG products.

You won't be eating much. The diet lets you have two meals a day, lunch and dinner. Each meal has to include one protein, one vegetable, one bread, and one fruit.

You can broil or grill veal, beef, chicken breast, fresh white fish, lobster, crab, or shrimp as long you dont eat any visible fat. No salmon, eel, tuna, herring, or dried or pickled fish are allowed.

Vegetable choices include spinach, chard, chicory, beet greens, green salad, tomatoes, celery, fennel, onions, red radishes, cucumbers, asparagus, and cabbage.

Bread can be one breadstick or one piece of melba toast.

For fruit, you can choose an orange, an apple, a handful of strawberries, or half a grapefruit. The diet allows as much water, coffee, and tea as you want. You can also have up to 1 tablespoon of milk per day.

You can use sugar substitutes but not sugar to sweeten drinks. Butter and oils aren't allowed.

It's very hard to stick with the strict calorie limit. Not only is it uncomfortable to live on just 500 calories a day, it can be dangerous. Its impossible to meet all your nutritional needs on so few calories. You may not get enough protein, either. If you're getting less than 1,200 calories a day, it's going to be challenging to get enough vitamins and minerals without supplements.

Doctors sometimes recommend a very-low-calorie diet (under 1,000 calories per day) if someone is obese and has a medical condition such as high blood pressure, but these diets must becarefully supervised by a doctor.

Vegetarians and vegans: Its fans say anyone can follow the hCG diet. But that doesnt mean its safe, especially for vegetarians. The diet's creators say that vegetarians would have to drink extra skim milk to make up for not getting protein from meat and other sources. Because it includes dairy, it's not a vegan diet.

Gluten-free: This isn't a gluten-free diet.

It is important to note that there are many modern variations of the phase 2 food list and there is no wrong protocol. The best approach, is what you and your doctor decide is right for you, based on your own needs and goals.

*Beverage Guidelines:These beverages are permitted in any amount. Diet Sodas are not recommended, particularly those with aspartame. The allotted milk may be cow, almond, or coconut. Soy is not recommended since many people have a food sensitivity to soy.

*Sweeteners Guidelines: No other sweeteners are permitted on the original protocol.

*Protein Guidelines:100 grams of the above listed proteins only, at both lunch and dinner.The 100 gram portions should be carefully weighed prior to cooking, and with all visible fat must be trimmed. Dr. Simeons also states the proteins should be boiled or grilled, however modern diet experts agree all forms of preparation are acceptable (saut, stewed, etc.) as long as additional fats are not used.

*Breads/Grains Guidelines: 1 of each are allowed at lunch and dinner. Be sure to read labels when purchasing, since some brands now add excessive ingredients with high calorie results.

Additional Guidelines: The official list of approved foods for Phase 2 of the Hcg Diet, particularly meats and vegetables, does not include any sauces, salad dressing or butter. You are encouraged not to use sauces such as barbecue sauce, A-1 Steak Sauce, etc., on meats nor salad dressings on salad greens, nor butter on vegetables. The only exception to this would be homemade sauce recipes that include only Simeons-approved foods and ingredients.

Is there are modern expanded food list of Hcg foods that will allow me to have more options? Yes, here is a widely accepted expanded list of acceptable Hcg foods with weights, portions and calories included.

What kinds of foods are allowed on most Hcg lists (original and modern variations)?

The 500 calorie menu was designed for Phase 2 of the Hcg Diet plan; the weight loss phase. It includes a list of foods that are known as whole foods. These are unprocessed and in their natural state, largely focus on healthy proteins from lean meats, balanced with carbohydrates from vegetables and carefully selected fruit.

Is the Hcg Diet a low-carb or ketosis diet?

Only 2 options are available for grains, however most protocol variations are not to be confused with low carbohydrate, ketosis diets as they include a significant amount of carbohydrates from vegetables. It is not necessary to have your body in a state of ketosis, although some choose to combine an Hcg-Keto approach during Phase 2. Should you and your doctor decide on a keto version of the Hcg Diet Plan, this can easily be achieved by removing the orange and grain options.

Which kinds of hcg-foods will allow me to lose the most weight?

Carnivore diet, aka all-meat diet plan, is simply a diet plan which incorporates only meat. You have to eat meat for each meal of the day. You cannot go for any vegetables or carbs. Those who prefer meat can pursue the diet plan more comfortably than others who love to consume veggies and carbs.

Surviving on any diet plan for losing weight may be daunting for the first few days. But you have to stick to the diet plan. Otherwise, you may not see the ultimate result of the diet plan. In this article, I am going to share my experience on a carnivore diet plan. Though I am not so fat, I wanted to give a try to learn what actually happened after a few days.

Before delving into the details, I would like to tell you about the diet plan so you can understand better. And, if you want to incorporate the diet plan, carnivore diet, it will be better for you to continue. Because, before starting a diet plan, it is wise to know the after-effects of the menu, right?

What is the carnivore diet anyway?

I think this is the most straightforward diet plan out there, among other diet plans like keto or paleo or HCG. Do you know why? Because of this simple but hard-to-follow diet plan, all you have to eat is just meat. It is also considered the ancestral approach of the diet plan. In ancient times, our forefathers lived on meat mostly. They hunted wild animals, fishes from river or any other water sources and ate them to satisfy their hunger.

So, you are only allowed to consume meat (steaks), butter, eggs, and cheese. For the first few days, you can eat some carbs after two or three days if you cannot continue the diet. But only meat is recommended for the diet plan. However, if it is not suitable for you, the paleo diet can be the best option left for you.

If you are on the diet plan, how do you get benefitted? Well. Below are the benefits of the diet plan; I stumble upon it.

Meat-lover

If you prefer eating meat, you can go to the diet plan. Because the menu of the diet plan suggests only to eat meat, cheese, eggs, and butter. So, it would be like you can continue the diet plan easily. But after a few days, you may experience difficulties pursuing the diet plan. Sometimes, you may vomit and have a headache as well.

Ketosis starts

Our body needs a source of energy to run it. Most of the time, the power which is necessary for our body gets by burning carbohydrate. What if there is almost no carbohydrate inside our body? The game starts from here. When our body does not energy from carbs, it changes the way to start ketosis, known as a metabolic process to burn stored fat in our body. Ketosis can benefit you to reduce weight, some health issues like ADHD.

Fast weight loss process

Continuing the meat diet plan for the first week, I feel like I have lost a few pounds of my weight. I checked and surprised that I have cut nearly four pounds of weight. This is huge! And, I have lost another two pounds for the following weeks on the meat diet plan. If you want to cut out some extra weight fast, it can be a good option for you to incorporate.

What happens for the first week of the diet plan?

I have already mentioned earlier in this article that everything needs time to transform. In the same way, after starting the carnivore diet plan, you have to consider a few days to match the diet plan to your body. Starting is easy, but pursuing consistency is somewhat tricky.

The first week will be the toughest for you if you want to take the diet plan. Because, for those days, you have to ignore your regular habit of eating. You will have to spend some days in the fluctuation mode of appetite. In this situation, you should allow you to sleep more.

Someday, you will feel like you dont need anything to eat. But for other days, you will become so hungry to eat a lot. But, as mentioned, by continuing the diet for a few days, everything should be reasonable to you so you can pursue the menu.

The diet plan is not easy to continue. Most dieters leave it in the middle or after a few days of starting. But if you are determined, you can continue. It will be pretty easy for you to maintain. When you begin to see the result, meaning weight loss, you can pursue the diet plan. If it is too difficult to proceed, you can eat sweet potatoes slightly.

The diet consists of calorie restriction to 500 calories per day. In my office I allow patients to eat approximately 700-750 calories per day. One of the most important premises of the diet is the use of fat and oils. On the HCG diet, you are not allowed to eat and drink foods which contain fats/oil. The data on this information is reasoned that when a woman is pregnant she makes and stores fat to feed the fetus. So with HCG, you are tricking the body to think it is pregnant and if you dont eat fat, then you will break down fat.

Many skeptics are concerned about the limited calories on this diet. So, lets do the math. Each pound of fat is 3500 calories. Thus if you have to lose 20 pounds you will multiply 350020= 70,000 calories to burn. Think of fat as money and calories is the currency. Your fat deposits are your savings and if you have to lose 20 pounds (70,000 calories) you have lots of resources in your bank to spend and you need to stop making caloric deposits.

The fat restriction is not only limited to what you ingest but what you put on the skin. Shampoo, hair conditioner, body lotion and skin cream all contain some fat. Applying these products to the skin once on HCG may affect your results as some of the fat may get absorbed through the skin. Dr. Bissoon tell his patients that a small amount of skin lotion is not going to make you overweight; if this is correct we have 100 percent obesity.
