Peripheral Blood Stem Cells From Unrelated Donors – Video

A new study finds filgrastim-mobilized peripheral blood stem cells convey no survival advantage over bone marrow transplants when the donor is not an HLA-identical sibling of the recipient. In an interview at the annual meeting of the American Society of Hematology, Dr. Claudio Anasetti explains why the findings could cause bone marrow transplants to be reconsidered for some patients with hematological malignancies.
