Cooper, a 7-year-old Golden Retriever, had a torn ACL in both sides of his hinds - or knees. He had fat-derived stem cell therapy performed at Finchville Animal Clinic using MediVet America's new in house stem cell procedure kit.

Kevin Gaides can walk - slowly and with mobility aids - but he can walk after being paralyzed from the chest down for 17 years. Kevin traveled to India more than two years ago for embryonic stem cells injections (and has returned for two more sessions).

Shankle reviewed clinical data, which indicates that stem cells from the fat pad of the intestines have the capacity to repair damaged brain tissue found in Alzheimer's disease and other neurological disorders

(Part 2 of 3) Irv Weissman, Ph.D., spoke at the "Spotlight on Basic Research," an educational event presented at the CIRM Governing Board meeting on August 20, 2009. Irv Weissman described how his lab's basic research of the immune system led to the identification of blood-forming stem cells and new therapeutic strategies to treat various blood diseases. He has a CIRM Disease Team grant to develop therapeutic antibodies for targeting human acute myeloid leukemia stem cells.

26-year old Jonathan Dieleman has an easy smile and a tireless work ethic. Raised on a cattle farm in Smithers, Jonathan was dirt biking last year when he hit a rock and broke his back. Jonathan was diagnosed a T-5 paraplegic - he couldn't move from the chest down.
